The princess & the pea

I reimagined the story of The Princess and the Pea by Hans Christian Andersen.

Published in 1835, it is the story of a prince who is looking for a real princess. There are many interpretations, but for me the story is about what it means to be highly sensitive and feel connected to nature.

With my illustrations I wanted to capture that it’s ok to feel deeply. Sensitivity isn’t a weakness, it’s actually a strength. In the end, it will help you find true connection and love in a world full of gold and glitter.

The illustrations are drawn with animal-friendly black archival ink and watercolour.
